The Graveyard Book

The Graveyard Book is a book about a little boy named Nobody Owens. Bod, as his friends call him is an orphan who has the most interesting surrogate family. Having lost his entire family to a brutal murder, Bod wanders into a graveyard and here is where he finds the most amazing myth to be a reality that ghosts are real.
The beauty of the story told in The Graveyard Book is that none of the characters react in a way one would expect them to. Having found ghosts in a graveyard, Bod does not run away screaming. Moreover, the ghosts aren't scary monsters, instead they are sympathetic to Bod's predicament and even agree to help raise him.
Thus we find Bod, an otherwise normal kid, lives in a graveyard and is raised and educated by ghosts. His sole guardian, who does not belong to the land of the living or the dead, watches over him and protects him from Jack, the man who murdered Bod's family. The Children's edition of this book was published by Bloomsbury Publishing India Private Limited in 2009 and is available in paperback.
Key Features:
  • The book weaves a strangely magical and wondrous tale of a little boy who receives an unconventional upbringing.
  • The journey of Bod's growth from a frightened to toddler to a confident boy with many unusual gifts is told in this book.
